Green Technology & Consulting, Inc. was founded in 2009 by David Green (see Linkedin profile here) who subsequently left his engineering position at Wieland Designs, Inc. to become full-time President and Lead Consultant at the new company. Since its founding, our goal has been to partner with growing small companies in greater Elkhart County and to develop their people and systems for continued, sustainable growth over the years and decades to come. The Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools that we use to accomplish this are the same ones that David first learned during his time in the automotive industry at Freudenberg-NOK and then added to through formal training at Purdue University and through regular practice on behalf of our consulting clients.
Although we are willing and able to complete one-off projects resolving specific quality and process issues through the application of advanced tools such as Design-of-Experiments (DOE), Single-Minute-Exchange-of-Dies (SMED), focused Kaizen and Cellular Design/Flow, our preference at Green Technology & Consulting is to work with clients in long-term partnerships that allow us to develop their team and systems through coaching, training and strategic planning. This long-term approach allows us to transform entire value streams and companies instead of individual processes while creating a continuous improvement culture that can be maintained long after the consultant has departed.
Having been born and raised in Elkhart County, David has an appreciation for the area’s rich manufacturing history and its “can do” entrepreneurial spirit. He is determined to help the area’s next generation of entrepreneurs grow and compete in today’s global marketplace through the practical application of Lean Six Sigma in a culture of continuous improvement.
